OUT OF TOWN THIS WEEKEND

Just to let everyone know, I will be out of town this weekend so no updates until next Tuesday. By then:

- Barry Bonds MAY have hit number 756 in Petco.

- ARod MAY be a member of the 500 HR club.

- And with any luck, the Padres MAY still be in the race.

Heartbreaking game last night as the Padres scored 4 in the bottom of the 9th (thanks to a 2 run HR by Milton Bradley) only to blow it two innings later with Heath Bell giving up 4 runs. The Padres slide to 3rd in the NL West, 2.5 games back.

Clay Hensley will get another shot to make the rotation as Bud Black revealed today that Hensley will start on Saturday.

Tim Stauffer was sent down to Portland with Will Ledzema and Jose Cruz Jr. was outright released to make room for the Padres recent additions.

Jake Peavy goes to the mound today with a lot of pressure on his shoulders. The Padres need a win and Peavy is the stopper for this club. In 2005, when the Padres went 82-80 it was Peavy's starts that became must win due to the inability of the team to win with anyone else starting. For now, we are in the same boat. Must win with Peavy.

See you on Tuesday! Keep the Friar Faith!
